April Update

Greetings prayer warriors,

We are excited at all the many developments and activities God is at work bringing together for the Palau Festival in July.   We pray with our hearts Psalm 25: 4-7 and God’s leading as we go forth to the Festival in July. “Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.  Remember, O Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.  Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O Lord.”  How exciting in a little over 80 days my friends, the NYC Festival July 11th weekend will be here.  May we continue to be faithful in prayer in the coming days for God’s continued mercy and grace involving all the people, events, and support that are needed for this Festival to come together.  Please pray with me in the following ways for the combined areas of NYC:  Staten Island, Westchester County and Long Island.

•    Pray for Tom Mueller and his team as they prepare for the National Day of Prayer involving Westchester County, May 7th.  Continue to pray for unity among the Churches there.  That God would give clear direction to the Festival events planned within the county and give courage and hope to all who will be a part of the outreach efforts.  Lift up Andrew Palau as he will be speaking at the worship service that evening.  That he would be empowered by the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel clearly.  
•    We continue to pray for LPA’s presence in this huge geographic area of Westchester County in the days ahead and for Satan’s strong holds to be defeated.
•    Please pray for all media and advertising details in preparation for the big publicity “kick off” day in May.
•    Pray for Staten Island as dozens of churches join hands to reach zip codes in the most troubled neighborhoods, preparing for four NEW LIFE 4SI outreaches.  
•    Pray for the Regional outreaches, sharing the Gospel across every borough.   More than 100 outreaches in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and more.  
•    Pray for a men’s event with Andrew Palau that will take place on April 25 in Wilton, CT with 200 men.
•    Pray for continued financial investment by God’s people in Westchester County who support the Gospel of Jesus. 
•    Pray that those individuals who have made decisions for Christ this past month will find strong Christian churches and believers who will help them grow in their new found faith!

As we continue to lift up Westchester County and other areas of NYC.  We are reminded of these words from Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.  My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.”  Our theme for the National Prayer Team this month is “Repentance”.  We must be convicted of our sin, and confess it before restoration and revival can happen.  As we pray we must humbly seek Him and turn from sin for Jesus to forgive and heal us ourselves and our nation.   2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land”.  What a great promise and reminder of God’s grace and mercy offered to all humanity through God’s son the Lord Jesus Christ.  Thank you for praying with me my friends.

March Update

Greetings Prayer Warriors,
We are excited at all the many developments and activities God is at work bringing together for the Palau Festival in July.   We pray with our hearts Psalm 24: 7-10 for the Lord is the King of Glory. “Lift up your head, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.” (vs. 7)

Praise With Us:

• Praise for the great three day youth outreach event, For This City!  Over 3,000 young people heard the gospel from Andrew Palau and challenging speakers. Many responded with a new song in their heart and a new life in Jesus!
• Thank Jesus for the growing community of pastors and churches working alongside the Palau Team in Westchester County.
• Thank God with us as He continues to open doors for outreach and service in this area. 

Pray With Us:

• Prayer for the 4/3 prayer breakfast with Andrew Palau, as he reaches pastors and area leaders with a vision for reaching Westchester County and NYC as a whole for the Gospel. Pray that a variety of churches are represented and grasp the vision for what God can do in their community!
• Prayer for Luis’ presentation of the Word of God at West Point on 4/19. NY Giants player Mark Herzlick will join him and share his testimony.
• Praise for the great three day youth outreach event!  Over a thousand young people heard the gospel from Andrew and many responded with a new song in their heart and a new life in Jesus.
• Ask God for clear direction from the Lord on direction for Tom Mueller and crew for the logistics of launching the various venues and how to handle all the details.
• Pray for continued financial investment by God’s people in Westchester County who support the Gospel of Jesus. 
• Pray for increased response and growing enthusiasm among the churches and believers in     Westchester County toward this Gospel movement in their community.

As we continue to lift up Westchester County we are reminded of these words in   Isaiah 25:1 “O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things!  You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them.”  We pray for the Palau staff in the coming days as they plan and extend relationships in Christ.  “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  Amen!

Praying for Westchester County

February Update

Greetings prayer warriors,

We are excited about the many developments and activities God is at work bringing together for the Palau Festival in July. We pray with our hearts Psalm 103: 8-14 for God’s heart for his people to come to him in grace and knowledge.

• Pray for increased response and growing enthusiasm among the churches and believers in Westchester County toward this Gospel movement in their community.
• Praise for the Re:New events that have ended and give praise for the work that God did in the hearts of many people who participated.
• Ask God to provide local leadership & pastors who will help spearhead outreach in this community. 
• Pray for Luis as he speaks at West Point in April.
• Pray for Tom and Leah as they are busy gearing up for the 3 day youth event which is less than a month away.  
• Specifically we pray for the youth event, coordination, and the reaching of souls for Jesus Christ.

Thank you Lord Jesus for this time of planning and anticipation through your people at work in NYC. Colossians 1:15-16 “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see – such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers and authorities in the unseen world.  Everything was created through him and for him.” Amen!  

God is amazing and He is at work in and through us!  Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” Take heart and continue to work and pray to God’s honor and glory as we lift up Westchester County.  Isaiah 25:1 “O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things!  You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them.”

January Update

At the dawn of this New Year:  PREPARE to be "utterly amazed!" 

Habakkuk 1:5 says, 
"Look at the nations and watch-and be utterly amazed.  For I am going to do something in your days (in NYC) that you would not believe, even if you were told."  

"The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land (NYC) will yield its HARVEST.  Righteousness goes before Him and PREPARES THE WAY for His steps."  Psalm 85:12-13

Dear Prayer Warriors,

Below is a quick note from our Church Director, Tom Mueller, working on the ground in NYC for the Luis Palau Association. Tom oversees the work in Westchester County, Long Island, & Staten Island. Be encouraged at all that is taking place and lift up Tom as He seeks God’s leading.

Thanks for reaching out and praying. Currently I am trying to break ground and get strong contacts in the area. I have a pastoral meeting set up in Yonkers with hopefully 30 pastors at the beginning of February, but there is still a lot of territory to cover and little time.  Pray for the upcoming pastoral meeting and that the pastors attending will come together and provide a good start in serving and proclaiming the Gospel together.  

Praise

•    Praise God for how the New Year has brought new enthusiasm and momentum to this Gospel movement all over the NYC area!
•    Praise God for opening the door for Luis to speak at Westpoint this Spring.

Prayer

•    Pray for a well attended youth meeting on January 27th with youth leaders from around the region to cast vision for an upcoming youth conference in March.
•    Pray for a final location for our youth conference in March. This is an urgent need.  Pray that the right venue is found that meets the needs of the youth.
•    Pray for favor.
•    Pray for the right contacts that will be favorable and spread the vision of revival.
•    Pray for a favorable meeting February 3rd with leaders in Yonkers.

December Update

Greetings Praying Friends in the Northern Midwest,

Advent blessings to each of you! As you anticipate the celebration of our Savior’s birth, may you be blessed with peace and joy in your hearts that reflect the true wonder of Jesus. 
Thank you for taking time in your busy holiday schedule to continue to lift New York, specifically Westchester County, before our Lord. We know that He is honored. Our prayer is that come this time next year, there will be many, many more people celebrating Jesus and the salvation He offers for all! We are asking God to work wonders, starting in NYC and flooding through our nation. How different might this season look in 2015 if we are in the midst of National Revival?!

Praise God with Us!

As we near the New Year and the festival approaches, let us praise God for what He is doing. All around New York, pastors and church leaders are meeting, dreaming and casting vision for what a unified effort to share Christ, both practically and evangelistically, might look like in their neighborhoods. Praise God for how He is drawing people together and revealing His plan!

Pray to God with Us!

•    For Tom Mueller, as he begins oversight of Westchester County, in addition to Long Island and Staten Island. Ask God for favor as he meets with pastors and mobilizes believers. Pray for his family as they have relocated to NYC in order to maximize their availability for the Lord.
•    The ongoing discussion regarding venue with the Parks Dept. and the city. Ask God to open doors while clearly leading us to the location and time of His choosing.
•    Pray for neighborhoods as they begin planning for local outreach events.
•    For more churches in Westchester County to hear about NY CityServe & CityFest and to enthusiastically come on board!
•    Strength to stay focused in the battle and protection for every team member and their families, whether in NYC or those traveling. 
•    More business leaders to own the vision locally and to help with fund and other opportunities to engage.

As we anticipate all God will do in response, thank you for your prayers! May you enjoy this Christmas season and recognize Jesus in your everyday.

Praying for Westchester County

November Update

1.    Pray for Tim Innes’ new assistant, who will give support to work for Queens and Westchester County but also overall NYC support.
2.    Pray for Bishop Mott to continue uniting the churches in New Rochelle.
3.    Pray for pastors in White Plains.
4.    Pray for more conveners to help and assist to emerge as dedicated leaders for this region.
5.    Pray for favor on approvals for a festival date of July 11 at Central Park.
6.    Pray for good communication with leaders across the board, whether staff or volunteers.
7.    Pray against barriers that might keep people in the area from engaging. 

October Update

[from Tim] “I am just wrapping up a good week in NYC. Continuing to make good progress. I 
met with a group of pastors in New Rochelle, Westchester on Wed. It was certainly a good 
gathering and the leaders seamed very interested on continuing to meeting to determine how 
they can serve and proclaim together. Main prayer request would be to see maybe 6 more of 
these groups come together in the area within the next 6 weeks. Ideally that would be a good 
start and allow for some ground up unity to be built.”
In addition, pray for:

• Wisdom on the festival venue
• Safe travel for Palau team members
• Clear understanding of the challenges in Westchester
• More key leaders to step up
• True sense of connectedness to the overall plan in New York City. Some areas are 45 minutes to an hour outside of Manhattan

September Update

Dear Prayer Warriors,

It is my prayer that you have had a wonderful summer filled with rest, refreshment, and time with family. It’s been a busy season for the Palau team, with festivals in both Alaska and Jamaica. We’ve also been building our prayer team, and are so grateful you have joined us! God is amazing and He is at work in and through us! As we pray, our faith grows.  

“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20

As we pray and grow in faith this autumn, let's keep NY CityServe & CityFest in our prayers, and watch as God moves mountains!

PRAISE

Nearly 5,000 people came together for a youth outreach in Long Island on August 20. Praise and worship events have taken place over the last 4 years, but this was the first time the Gospel was proclaimed and people were asked to make a decision for Christ. Trained counselors were hardworking, and full of faith and wisdom as they prayed with those who made decisions for Christ. We rejoice in these new lives changed for eternity!

PRAY

September 23

The official NY CityServe launch is taking place at Calvary Baptist the morning of September 23rd.  Lord willing, we are praying for a full house with a minimum of 600 churches, pastors, and leaders in attendance. The first local fundraising event is also taking place that evening.  Please pray for all tables to be hosted and filled with the right business leaders and also for a great response.

LPA Staff

• Favor for the Palau team and church relations team as we mobilize people for NY CityServe.
• LPA staff who have moved to NYC.
• Three strong candidates for admin positions.
• For strong communication between our Latin and English speaking teams.
• Protection for every member of the team working on this campaign.
• Wisdom for Luis and all those taking part in preparing for the outreach events.

Local NYC

• Venue location(s) and dates.
• For churches not yet engaged to come on board. 
• Every ministry in NYC to be aware of and engaged in NY CityServe and CityFest.
