Partner with God!
How great is that? That’s what we do when we intercede with and through Him, trusting our heavenly Father to hear and answer us in the power of Jesus’ name! It’s a holy process, to see God’s love and will at work. St Augustine said: “Without God, we cannot; without us, God will not.”
We have the honor of going before our Almighty God on behalf of the Palau Team for Gospel truth and revival in NYC and across our nation. Here are this month’s prayers to pray and forward to your praying friends:
Praise God with us:
We’ve been given provisionary approval for Central Park on July 11th! Pray for favor in meetings with the Production Team and with Parks Department. There are many logistical details to work through over the next several months.
Re:New conferences were a HUGE success!! 5 Conferences over 5 days, packed to overflowing with over 8,500 in attendance overall. From Tim Innes: “There was an incredible sense of hunger, joy and searching for deeper relationship with Christ. Folks came to be fed. Luis and Francis were tremendous sharing the Word and challenging folks to a deeper level of commitment in their walk with the Lord. Momentum is building and the Lord is helping us to establish a strong foundation for the days ahead.”
10 Manhattan Chinatown churches participated in the Chinese New Year parade on Sunday, February 22, for the first time. They distributed thousands of tracts!
Randy Burtis, our Church Director over Connecticut and Brooklyn, is back to work after a successful eye surgery. Pray for complete healing!
Feed the Need in Clinton, New Jersey (February 16-22). More than 8,000 volunteers from throughout New Jersey worked to package meals for thousands of children and families suffering from food shortages due to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. More than 100 churches were represented and 2,037,312 meals packed, which is enough to feed 5,581 people for an entire year!
Pray with Us For:
Continued UNITY among churches and pastors in the NYC Tri-State area; and favor as many venues are being planned and permits requests in all 9 boroughs.
The New York Supreme Court has yet to decide if it will hear the case regarding the right for churches to rent public school rooms as meeting places for worship. Please pray they will hear the case and God’s will is done!
Advertising/PR: Pray as the remainder of the advertising plan comes together. Ask God for favor with the media and the ability to creatively send out the message.
Ask God for wisdom for each of the Borough Directors as they engage with leadership and move planning forward. Ask especially for strong leadership to emerge for the women's outreach dinners and business civic leaders events.
Lift up the LPA Latino Team as they work hard to mobilize more churches.
March Happenings:
Pray for the executive team meeting that took place in New Jersey on March 4th. Ask God to cast a vision for His plan and give wisdom and direction as plans for various regional outreaches come together.
Pray for the upcoming youth events “For This City,” March 13-15. Andrew Palau, Chris Durso and the band Jesus Culture will minister to youth in Queens, New Jersey & Manhattan. Each evening is already full and the team is exploring ways to open up more space. Pray for all God intends to happen through this time!
March 28 is Nyack (College) Service day. 10 locations all over the region will host volunteers for service opportunities to the homeless, in public schools and more.
Pray as plans for a fundraising dinner in NYC on March 31st with Mark Burnett, Roma Downey and Luis Palau are in the works. Continue to ask the Lord to bless through provision of all the team’s financial needs at this event and in any other way.
Looking Ahead:
April
• Easter Outreaches in many boroughs. Including Easter egg hunts in Chelsea & Astoria. (April 4th-5th)
• Connecticut Re:New Conference. (April 9th)
• Luis speaking at Dr. AR Bernard’s church & West Point. He is seeking a Christian football player to join him. (April 19th)
• Staten Island’s mini festival with Andrew Palau & LZ7. (April 24th-26th)
May
• Special events in various boroughs for the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 7. Pray specifically for the Westchester and LPA’s presence there.
• May’s Mother’s Day outreach. (May 9th)
• UN event- ask God to pour His favor on this time.
